HP LaserJet MFP M140we Printer

Hi:)

So i have a problem with printing quality. Before i was allways able to print from my phone or from every computer i used, directly from file. From libre, word, adobe etc. Now i need to save the file and then choose it from HP smart app, and it really takes me so much time and its frustrating. I cant even print no pdfs in app, so i need to convert my files first in pdf format to be able to find it in the app.

When i print them directly they are really blurry.

Please help..

(I have the same printer for years now, never had a problemm like this)

@Pim9, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP LaserJet MFP M140we Printer

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like there are two issues with your HP LaserJet MFP M140we printer:

Blurry print quality when printing directly from apps like Word, LibreOffice, or Adobe.

Needing to manually select files from the HP Smart app to print properly.

Try these steps:

Check Printer Drivers & Updates:

If you’re using a Windows or Mac computer, update your printer drivers:

Go to HP Support website → Search for your printer model → Download & install the latest drivers.

If using a phone, update the HP Smart app from the App Store or Google Play.

Reset the Printer:

Turn off the printer.

Unplug it from power for 60 seconds.

Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Default Printer Settings:

On Windows:

Open Control PanelDevices and Printers → Right-click on your printer → Set as default printer.

On Mac:

Go to System SettingsPrinters & Scanners → Select your printer as the default.

Print Quality Check & Settings Adjustment:

Print a test page from the printer’s settings.

If the test page is blurry, check the toner levels. If low, replace the toner.

In the printing options (before printing), check:

Print Quality → Set to Best or High Resolution.

Paper Type → Match it to the type of paper you’re using.

DPI settings → Increase it if possible.

I hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
