Hi! I recently replaced the black ink on my OfficeJet Pro 8025. It is now printing excessive black lines. As you can see from the attached document, it has black lines scattered about on my page. The most obvious is the line about 2" down on the right side of the page. I have tried cleaning the cleaning and aligning the print head, as well as "clean smear" multiple times, and made sure the printing software is up to date (the attached document is a test print from the printer itself, so it is not a driver issue), but none of those attempts have prevented the lines from appearing.
ETA: I am using official HP printer ink: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07SZKCGFJ
Thank you!

Hi @hifromkevin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue might be related to the ink cartridge or the printhead, especially if it's after replacing the black ink cartridge. Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the excessive black lines.
- Check the Ink Cartridge: Ensure that the new black ink cartridge is properly installed and hasn't leaked or spilled. Sometimes, a defective cartridge can cause issues like this.
- Run a Printhead Diagnostic: You've mentioned cleaning and aligning the printhead, but running a printhead diagnostic test may provide more insight into whether the printhead itself needs to be replaced. This option should be available in the printer's settings.
- Check for Ink Smears: If the ink cartridges aren't seated properly or there's an issue with the ink dispensing, it could lead to smearing. Inspect the interior for any smudges or ink buildup.
- Perform a Deep Cleaning: If the basic cleaning isn't working, try doing a deep cleaning of the printhead. This option is available through the printer’s settings menu. It can help clear any blockages or ink clogs that are causing the lines.
- Try a Different Paper Type: Sometimes, the type of paper you're using can contribute to print quality issues. Try printing on a different type of paper to see if the lines persist.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
