With the assistance of Copilot we spent over two hours trying to update my HP and Windows settings. I thought all was good till I tried to print again. I have only printed about 10 pages since I bought the printer. I’m very frustrated. I have Google and Windows 11 with 365.

Printing blank pages is a symptom of debris such as tape or glue residue blocking the electrical contacts or the ink jets.

For general help for new router or printer please refer to this article in our printer database.

Please provide the exact model name of the printer for better assistance as I may be able to find videos to show how to connect or fix the problem. A printer can be a PRO or a PLUS or have the letter 'e' after the number and that can make a big difference. Some printers with the same number ID could be a LaserJet, Deskjet, or Officejet.

Click Spoiler if you have a new router and nothing else changed.

Spoiler
New ISP, same old printers, PCs and smartphones: Log into the modem or router and change the SSID (names) of each band so the names are different. Create a numeric password identical for each band to simplify login. If you must use alphanumeric characters then do not use any from this set: ilL1oO0D8B5S as they are easily mixed up depending on the font used. Be sure to run the application (if any) that finds the best channel for each band. Your ISP should be able to do all of this for you if you need help.

If you configure the new router with:

  • The same SSID (network name) as the old router
  • The same Wi-Fi password
  • The same security type (typically WPA2-Personal or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode)

Your printer may reconnect automatically. However, your PC may have an old IP address, but you can always tell the PC to find the printer, and it will obtain the new IP address.
