Hi there!
My new printer arrived two days ago. I use it for printing art prints and photos. I used it a bit on Tuesday and again today (two days later) and it has already run out of ink.
Is this normal?
It seems to have gone down insanely fast! I can't seem to find out just how many pages I have printed off in those two days but surely, the ink can't be depleted.
I saw a review that stated you would get 700 prints from the colour cartridges. I would guess I printed off approx 40 a3 prints with varying colours in the last few days.
Is there any chance the ink cartridges that come with the printer are only semi full?
I have ordered more ink but I can't be doing this every few days. It's too expensive! My previous printer was an Epson 7750 and the ink would last weeks printing multiple prints every day.
Hoping someone can clarify if this is just an issue with the cartridges supplied with the printer or if I can expect this all the time.
Thanks so much!

@LOGLADY1987, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand your concern. The ink level depends on how many pages you print, the quality, and what type of printing you do(photos).
- The ink cartridges that go with the printers are setup ink cartridges that are designed to initialize the printer.
- During the initialization of the printer, a large quantity of ink is consumed by the printer to complete the cycle.
- Printing photos consume more ink than printing documents/text on regular paper.
- Replace the empty ink cartridge with an HP regular/XL ink cartridge for better results.
- You may purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.
