We purchased HP cartridges for the printer (202X CF500X), however, when inserted it erroneously states "Non-HP Chip Detected". We spent several hundred dollars on these cartridges and they are, indeed, HP cartridges..
I have tried removing the cartridge, powering off the printer, unplugging the printer - waiting - then restarting the printer. Some error message appears when I try to place the cartridge.
The only thing I can find is that maybe the region of the cartridge doesn't align with my printer - what would this mean, I can't buy printer ink from Home Depot anymore? The box of the cartridge says it is a "product of Japan" and we are in the US. And, what, I'd have to pay HP so I can speak to them and ask them to change the region of my printer? Ridiculous if that's the case.
