The printer diagnostics do not show any problem but documents that contain color photos only print in grayscale and black.

Hi @Tom848,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand Printer scans and copies in color but does not print in color
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the color printing issue with your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer:
Check Print Settings:
- Open the document you want to print.
- Click on File > Print.
- In the print settings window, ensure that the printer is set to print in Color instead of Grayscale or Black and White. You may find this option under Properties or Preferences.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model to download and install any available updates.
Check Ink Levels:
- Make sure that your color ink cartridges are not empty or low on ink. You can check ink levels from the printer control panel or the HP Smart app.
Print Quality Settings:
- Access the printer's settings via the HP Smart app or printer control panel. Look for any options related to print quality or color settings, and ensure they are set to normal or high quality.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can help diagnose and fix printing issues automatically.
Reset Printing System:
- Sometimes, resetting the printer can help. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your Windows 11 operating system is up to date, as updates can sometimes fix compatibility issues.
Try Printing from a Different Application:
- Sometimes, the issue can be application-specific. Try printing from a different app (e.g., a different PDF viewer or image editor).

I hope this helps.
