HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One

Setting up new printer - K ink tank sensor indicates insufficient ink despite emptying full bottle of ink and visual display indicating tank is full. Suspect a faulty K tank sensor. Y, M & C tanks are fine. Has anyone experienced the same problem and if so what was the remedy?

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Hi Garp,

 

thank you for your response. I decided to return the printer back to the shop. Their tech desk determined there was a fault with the ink tank sensor and replaced the printer for me. The replacement printer did not experience the same fault and is working fine so far.
