Printer will not print in color even when I am just copying a document and select Start Color, not start of Start BW. “Print test report” prints what it seems to think are color bars but in fact they re in greyscale. Despite this I have turned it off and back on, reinstalled drivers, taken the cartridges out and put them back in (they re all about 50% full), verified that Print greyscale is not selected. Also, doesn’t matter if I print from PC, phone or iPad.

Since a simple copy operation on the printer itself reverts to black, this seems mechanical. What can I do to fix this?

note that it was working fine, I had a paper jam which I cleared, and now color doesn’t work. The jam can’t be the issue because the print function and paper path are clearly fine, but is there something I messed up? If so, it doesn’t seem to have affected the black cartridge.

thanks for any suggestions, I need the color function for work.
