My printer won’t print black. I’ve changed the cartridge and put the head cleaner cycle on several times.

All suggestions welcome!

I understand the printer is not printing black. To assist you better,

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists.

 

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

 

Make sure you are using HP ink cartridges. Check the ink levels and replace any low/empty ink cartridges.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

Clean the printhead up to 2 times and print a test page to check the result.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Check the print settings on the app you are using to print. You may refer to - HP print settings guide (Windows, Mac)
