Hi @RandalS,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One Printer isn't printing color or black despite replacing ink cartridges and cleaning the printhead both manually and automatically,
here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Ink Levels
- Even though you replaced the ink cartridges, double-check the ink levels using the HP software or directly from the printer's control panel. Sometimes new cartridges may not be fully recognized.
2. Reinsert the Cartridges
- Remove all the cartridges and reinsert them one by one. Ensure they are properly seated and that the protective tape from the new cartridges has been completely removed.
3. Perform a Second Printhead Cleaning
- Run the printhead cleaning utility again from the printer software or the printer’s control panel. Sometimes multiple cleaning cycles are necessary to resolve clogging issues.
- Go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead on the printer's control panel.
4. Print a Diagnostic Page
- From the printer’s menu, print a diagnostic or test page to see if any ink at all is coming through.
- Go to Setup > Tools > Printer Status Report.
5. Check for Clogs or Dry Ink in the Printhead
- Even after manual cleaning, ink can dry and clog the nozzles. Try soaking the printhead (if removable) in warm distilled water for about 10-15 minutes to dissolve any dried ink.
- Dry it completely before reinstalling and try printing again.
6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure that the printer’s firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve printhead issues.
- You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website by searching for your printer model.
7. Reset the Printer
- Reset the printer to clear any possible software glitches:
- Turn the printer on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer while it's still on.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the outlet and the printer.
8. Inspect the Cartridges
- Make sure the cartridges you're using are genuine HP cartridges and not expired or damaged. Non-HP or third-party cartridges might cause printing issues.
9. Check Printer Settings
- Verify that your printer is set to print in color or black as needed. Sometimes, the print settings might be accidentally set to grayscale or black-only mode.
- Open Printers & Scanners in Windows, select your printer, click on Printing Preferences, and make sure the correct color settings are chosen.
10. Replace the Printhead
- If nothing works, the printhead itself may be faulty and need replacement.
Let me know if these steps help, or if you need more assistance!
