Printer won't print solid black lines

Printer will not print solid black unless it's printing a screen shot from a phone. Have changed cartridge and cleaned heads. There is nothing wrong with hardware as it prints well from a screenshot but through the app it prints in dots. The attached photo should be a solid barcode which should be scanned by a barcode reader which obviously it can't. I'm sure it is just a setting that needs changing but I can't find it anywhere. Please help, any suggestions welcome.
