My officejet 5258 will print the printer information but won’t print items sent to the printer.  The printer will go through the motions but the paper has nothing on it

I understand your HP OfficeJet 5258 is printing blank pages, but it successfully prints the printer information page. It might be due to a few potential issues. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:



Check Ink Cartridges:
 

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly and have sufficient ink. Sometimes, issues with ink cartridges can prevent proper printing.
  • Make sure that both black and color cartridges are seated properly. If necessary, remove and reinsert them.

Perform a Printer Reset:
 

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds and then reconnect the power cord.
  • Turn on the printer and see if the issue persists.

Print a Diagnostic Page:
 

  • Access the printer's settings menu to print a test or diagnostic page.
  • Check if the test page prints correctly.

Check Printer Software:
 

  • Make sure that the correct printer driver is installed on your computer.
  • Reinstall the printer software if necessary. You can download the latest software and drivers from https://support.hp.com/us-en.

Ensure Proper Connection:
 

  • Confirm that your printer is properly connected to the computer, whether by USB or network connection.
  • For network printers, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.

Change Print Settings:
