Hi @Cindy221,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the ink supply system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges. Make sure they are installed correctly and that the protective tape has been removed.
- Inspect the cartridges for any visible damage or leaks.
Clean the Contacts:
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Carefully remove the ink cartridges and clean the contacts on both the cartridges and the printer with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly dampened with water. Allow them to dry before reinserting.
Reset the Printer:
- Unplug the printer from the power source for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Software Updates:
- Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates through the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
Perform a Printer Reset:
- In some cases, a factory reset can help clear issues. This can be done through the printer's settings menu. Be sure to note any custom settings, as this will return the printer to its default settings.
Try a Different Cartridge:
- If the issue persists, try using a different, verified new ink cartridge. It's possible that the new cartridges you bought are faulty or expired.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
