I have an Envy 7640 that I have used pretty heavily for the last several years and it finally died. I have been part of the hp instant ink program and have somehow ended up with several extra cartridges that I would like to utilize in my next printer. I really liked the last one and had very few problems with it, so would like to replace it with the same model or similar, but am having problems finding one that takes the same cartridges. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi @Deisen,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are looking for a printer that can use the cartridge as of your old printer.
Instant ink cartridges will only work with the printer that was enrolled in the service.
The extra instant ink cartridges you have will not work once the service is cancelled or on any other printer using the same ink cartridge.
When you cancel the service:
- You can continue printing with Instant Ink supplies until the end of your current billing cycle.
- At the end of the billing cycle, you must remove Instant Ink cartridges and purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of your choice to continue printing. Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.
- Your final monthly charge comes at the end of the billing cycle.
- The Paper Add-on service ends with your Instant Ink service.
Note: HP Instant Ink is based on the pages you print, not cartridges or shipments you receive.
Kindly refer to the step "Cancel your account" from this link to cancel your account.
