Can someone tell me my printer has ink but continues to omit top of a line when printing.  I did the testing and alignment sheet and it was fine.  So I’m using Amazon cartridges and have been for a couple of years and never had a problem.  I m beginning to think the problem is in the ink but what do I know.  Can someone tell me, do I need a new printer? Or something else?

If your printer is omitting the top of lines even though the testing and alignment sheets are fine, several factors could be contributing to this issue. Here are steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:

 

Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Even if you have been using Amazon cartridges for a while, they might occasionally cause issues. Consider replacing the cartridges to see if this resolves the problem.

Clean Printheads:

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Sometimes third-party cartridges can cause print quality issues. It might be worth trying genuine HP cartridges to see if there is an improvement.
  • Ensure that all components like printhead cleaners are also genuine HP supplies.

Software & Firmware Updates:

  • Check for any software or firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes these updates can fix existing bugs or improve compatibility with ink supplies.
