Hi @KrysCheese ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 is still having issues with the printhead after the paper jam was fixed. The black streaks are typically a sign that the printhead is either clogged, misaligned, or experiencing communication issues. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check the Printhead Alignment
- Go to the printer’s control panel, select "Setup" or "Tools," and look for an option to align the printhead. This helps ensure the printhead is positioned properly for optimal printing.
2. Clean the Printhead
- Over time, ink can dry up and clog the printhead nozzles, leading to streaks. You can clean the printhead from the printer’s settings:
- On the printer’s screen: Navigate to "Setup" > "Printer Maintenance" > "Clean Printhead."
- Alternatively, use the HP Smart app or HP Utility software on your computer to clean the printhead.
- If this doesn’t work, you can try cleaning it manually (with the printer turned off):
- Open the printer and carefully remove the printhead and cartridges.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth with warm water (do not soak) and gently wipe the printhead.
- Let it dry before reinstalling.
3. Check the Ink Cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are correctly installed and have sufficient ink. Even if you don't see a low ink warning, a faulty or dry cartridge could cause issues.
- Try replacing the cartridges if you suspect they are the issue.
4. Run a Printer Diagnostic Test
- Some printers have built-in diagnostic tests that can help identify printhead problems or other issues.
- On your printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Printer Diagnostic.
5. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can help reset any internal issues.
6. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes firmware updates can fix underlying issues with print quality or hardware communication.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
