Hi @Abbycat1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY Inspire 7900e printer skipping letters when printing on envelopes, despite it printing standard letters without any problems. To address this, please follow these HP-recommended steps
1. Load Envelopes Correctly
Proper loading of envelopes is crucial for optimal print quality:
- Open the Main Tray:
- Ensure the photo tray is pushed in.
- Slide the guides to the edges of the main tray.
- Place the envelopes print-side down in portrait orientation.
- Align them with the appropriate paper size lines on the front of the tray
- Adjust the guides until they touch the edges of the envelopes without bending them.
- Ensure it's securely closed.
- When prompted on the printer display, confirm or adjust the paper size and type settings to match the envelopes
- Pull out the output tray extension to support the printed envelopes.
For detailed instructions, refer to page 17 of the HP ENVY Inspire 7900e Series User Guide.
2. Adjust Print Settings on Your Computer
To ensure the printer recognizes the envelope settings:
- Use your preferred word processing application.
- Click on File > Print.
- Choose your HP ENVY Inspire 7900e printer
- Click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
- Under Paper Type, select Envelope.
- Click on Advanced and set the Paper Size to match your envelope size (e.g., #10 Envelope).
- Ensure that duplex printing is turned off, as it can interfere with envelope printing.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
