I am having issues with my printer. I have done all the maintenance on the printer that is suggested to help with this issue and it is still printing with the streaks (I have tried the cleaning several times). I receive the ink from HP ink program. I have included a picture of the results with 2 different tries and nothing has changed.

I see on here there are several similar issues with no solutions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Studeedoo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your OfficeJet Pro 8025 is still printing with streaks even after running all the recommended maintenance (including cleaning cycles multiple times) and using genuine HP Instant Ink cartridges. Let’s go through steps to try resolving this before considering hardware replacement.

1. Print a Quality Diagnostic Report

On the printer panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Print Quality Report.

Check if streaks appear in black only, color only, or all colors.

This helps determine if the issue is with a cartridge or the printhead.

2. Clean the Printhead Manually

Power off and unplug the printer.

Open the cartridge access door, remove cartridges.

Using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water, gently wipe the copper contacts and the nozzle area of each cartridge.

Also gently wipe the printhead contacts inside the carriage.

Let everything dry before reinstalling.

3. Run a Second-Level Cleaning

From the printer panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.

If streaks persist, repeat and select Deep Cleaning (may need to do this 2–3 times, but don’t overdo it as it uses a lot of ink).

4. Align the Printhead

From the menu, run Align Printhead.

Misalignment can cause streaks or missing lines.

5. Check Paper & Settings

Ensure you are printing on plain, clean, dry, white paper.

In print settings, select Normal or Best quality (not Draft).

Make sure the paper type matches what’s loaded (wrong paper settings can cause ink flow issues).

6. Update Firmware

Using the HP Smart app or HP Support, check for the latest firmware update.

Updates sometimes address printhead and ink delivery problems.

I hope this helps.

Hi. I tried all of the suggestions and it was still the same. The last thing to try is installing new cartridges (which are on the way to be delivered). I will message if nothing has changed even after that

Hi @Studeedoo,

Thank you for the update. I appreciate you trying all the suggested steps. Let’s wait and see if the new cartridges resolve the streaking issue. Please do let me know once you’ve tested with the replacements, and if the problem persists, we’ll continue to explore the next steps together.

Best regards,

Hi.

i installed the new cartridges and nothing has changed, if anything, it seems worse. I tried cleaning the printheads and went through all of the same processes that you previously suggested and as I said, no change.

what could be a next step?

Hi @Studeedoo,

Thank you for the update and for trying the new cartridges. I understand how frustrating it must be that the issue persists, and even seems worse. Since the standard maintenance and cartridge replacements haven’t resolved the streaking, it indicates that the printhead itself may have a deeper issue or there might be a hardware-level problem.

Here’s what I recommend as the next steps:

Check Printhead Health

If your OfficeJet Pro 8025 has a removable printhead, inspect it for any visible clogs or damage.

If it’s integrated, repeated streaks after new cartridges usually indicate the printhead may need replacement.

Run HP Printhead Diagnostic

Use the printer’s HP Smart app or Embedded Web Server (EWS) to run a printhead diagnostic test.

This can confirm whether the printhead nozzles are failing.

Firmware Update Verification

Ensure the printer firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware can occasionally cause ink distribution problems even with new cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Hi.

i have done as suggested. I don’t think i can remove the print head without unscrewing it which I’m not sure if i should in fear of making things worse.

i don the smart app diagnostics and after it printed the sheet showing what needs doing, it suggested I align the printhead, which i did but that hasn’t changed anything, again.

the firmware is definitely up to date.

im guessing my last resort now is to replace the printhead?

many thanks
