I'm having issues when printing, or making copies of anything with my HP Envy Photo 7855. It is causing lines to form across images, and it never used to be that way. We have done some troubleshooting like shutting it off and back on, trying to reset the settings, do test prints, etc.. But nothing is helping. I use this printer for my buisness as well as personal use, and up to this point, have never previously had any issues with it. Is there anyone that would be able to help me figure out what is going on. Thank you.

Hi @Meg0527,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with lines appearing on prints and copies typically indicate an issue with the printhead, ink cartridges, or scanning mechanism. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer:
1. Check Ink Levels
- Open the HP Smart app or printer software on your computer to check the ink levels.
- Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.
2. Clean the Printhead
- Using the Printer Menu:
- On the printer's touchscreen, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Repeat the process if the issue persists. HP recommends up to three cleaning cycles.
3. Align the Printhead
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Setup > Tools > Align Printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and print an alignment page.
4. Examine the Cartridges
- Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
- Carefully remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for:
- Damage or leaks.
- Clogged nozzles (gently clean with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water).
- Reinstall the cartridges securely.
5. Check the Scanner Glass and ADF (if copying)
- Clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or glass cleaner.
- Ensure no dust or debris is on the automatic document feeder (ADF).
6. Perform a Printer Reset
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and power it on.
7. Run a Diagnostic Test
- On the touchscreen, go to Setup > Tools > Printer Status Report or Print Quality Report.
- Review the print quality report for any anomalies.
8. Update Firmware and Software
- Visit HP's support site to check for and download the latest firmware or software updates for your printer.
9. Use Genuine HP Ink
- Ensure you’re using genuine HP ink cartridges, as third-party or refilled cartridges can cause quality issues.
10. Advanced Cleaning (if necessary)
- If the above steps don’t work, consider running an Advanced Cleaning from the printer menu or in the HP Smart app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
