HP DeskJet 2734e All-in-One Printer

My printer will only print blank pages, but the test pages (such as from hitting "Information" or "Wireless") print fine, so I know it's not an issue with the ink cartridges. I've tried printing different document formats to test it wasn't an application error and followed the trouble-shooting instructions here (https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/ish_10457651-10457723-16), including installing new firmware.

What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Hi @blankpages_69

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for explaining the situation so clearly—I'm really sorry you're facing this issue. It’s understandably frustrating when your printer seems to be working but still delivers blank pages.

Let’s walk through a few additional steps that may help resolve this.

Additional Steps to Fix Blank Page Printing on HP DeskJet 2734e

Remove and Reinstall Ink Cartridges
Even if the cartridges show ink and print test pages, reseating them can help reestablish proper contact.

  • Power on the printer.
  • Open the cartridge access door and gently remove both cartridges.
  • Reinsert them firmly into their slots and close the door.

Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle
Dried ink or partial clogs can cause blank output.

  • On the printer control panel or via the HP Smart app, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning cycle and try printing again.

Check Print Settings

  • Ensure the correct paper type and print quality settings are selected.
  • Avoid “Draft” mode if you're printing color or detailed documents.

Try Printing from HP Smart App

  • Sometimes the issue is with the print spooler or driver.
  • Download and install HP Smart for Windows and try printing directly from the app.

Uninstall and Reinstall Printer Driver

Check for Windows Print Spooler Issues

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click and select Restart.

If the printer still prints blank pages after these steps, it may help to perform a deeper printhead cleaning or reset the printer entirely. Let me know if you'd like help with that process.

You're doing everything right by being thorough—let’s get this sorted.
