My printer is not printing -- even though the supply levels are more than adequate. It sends the paper through and SOUNDS like it's printing -- but nothing appears on the paper. I have tried cleaning and aligning the heads to no avail. We have another older printer -- Deskjet 4100 series -- as well with the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Did you make a copy on both printers and check if that prints fine?

Are you getting any error messages?

Are both printers and your Mac is connected to the same network?

Reply with the requested information for more assistance.

Cheers.

Hi,

Thanks for offering to help. My answers:

Did you make a copy on both printers and check if that prints fine?

I tried test pages, alignment pages, and printing documents -- nothing.

Are you getting any error messages?

No.

Are both printers and your Mac is connected to the same network?

Yes

We ordered a nozzle cleaning kit to see if that helps.

Thanks again.

Oh do you mean using the copy function? No but I can try that.  Thanks again.

I have a HPEnvy4520 all in one wireless printer. I only use the  black ink cartridge in it. It had been working fine up until we had some problems with our  internet recently. Problem with that is fixed, but the printer no longer prints from any of our devices with which it once worked. It sounds like a document is sent from a device for printing, makes the printing noise and the paper goes through the printer, but it is always blank.

That's exactly what's happening -- although I'm using a USB connection.

I believe the problem is within the printer in my case, because it will sound like it is copying a document placed on the printer plate for scanning and printing, and it sounds good, but there is no ink on the paper that comes out.

I'm pretty tech-savvy, so I have already done everything recommended in that document save for servicing -- which is usually not worth it considering the price and ages of the printers. But thanks so much for your suggestion!
