Whenever I print, the margin gets off. If I try to print anything, the printer does not follow the margin and prints ahead and it leaves a white blank space approx 1 cm the the end of the page. Sometimes, it follows the correct margin. Most of the times, it gets offset and there are some pages with more than 1 cm blank at the bottom. I followed my usual settings and i also tried cleaning, alignment, and reinstalling the program.
Help. It's costing me much paper waste.
The blank space at the bottom when it's supposed to be borderless

Hi @SummerBear,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
This issue matches HP guidance for placement of text or graphics that is wrong, and the content is being cut off. The most relevant checks are:
- Make sure the paper size selected in the printer driver matches the paper loaded in the tray. If the document size is larger than the loaded media, content can be cut off.
- Check the margin settings in the document/app. If margins exceed the printer’s printable area, text or graphics can be cut off at the edges.
- Check page orientation in the app and printer driver so both match.
- Check how the paper is loaded: the width and length guides should fit snugly against the paper stack, and the tray should not be overloaded.
- Check the media/page settings in the driver to be sure they match the actual paper.
- If alignment was attempted, HP notes that alignment can fail if colored paper is loaded; use unused plain white paper.
- If the problem continues after these checks, HP notes the issue can also be caused by the application not interpreting print settings correctly. In that case, try printing the same file from another app or adjusting the app’s page setup.
You mentioned cleaning, alignment, and reinstalling were already tried. Based on HP guidance, the next best focus is:
- Reconfirm paper size in both the app and the printer driver
- Reconfirm orientation
- Check document margins/scaling / fit-to-page settings
- Reload paper and adjust the paper guides snugly
- Try printing from a different application
I hope this will help.
Take care and have a good day.
I'm an HP Employee.
