HP Ink Tank Wireless 419
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 worked fine for an year but it has started printing in pink in the last few weeks. I have not made any changes to driver or firmware. The ink is genuine ink from HP brand and all the ink level are at the optimal levels but I am not sure if the cartridge is dried up.

Kindly advise on How to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance,

Hi @Sandy03,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 is printing mostly in pink, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Check Ink Levels: Even though you mentioned the ink levels are optimal, double-check to ensure that none of the colors are low or empty. Sometimes, the printer may not accurately display low levels.

Clean Printhead: The printhead might be clogged. Use the printer's built-in cleaning utility:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup or Tools.
  • Select Clean Printhead or Printer Maintenance and follow the prompts.

Perform a Printhead Alignment: Misalignment can cause color issues. This option is also available in the Printer Maintenance section of the printer’s menu.

Check for Air Bubbles: Sometimes, air bubbles in the ink lines can cause printing issues. You might need to purge the air bubbles or perform a deep cleaning if the printer has that option.

Check for Dried Ink: If the cartridges have dried up, it could lead to color issues. Try removing and gently shaking the cartridges to see if that helps. If they’re dried out, you might need to replace them.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve printing issues.

Run Diagnostic Tests: Many HP printers have built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify and resolve printing problems. Look for these options in the printer’s menu or software.

Replace Cartridges: If none of the above steps work, consider replacing the cartridges. Even if they are genuine HP cartridges, they might be defective or dried up.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
