I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8035 printer and when I try to print something it comes out in only 2 colors i’ve tried, taking the cartridges out and putting them back in they are repetitively new cartridges so I know it’s not low on ink I have shut the machine down, unplugged it, and still the same I have cleaned the printheads numerous times now it’s telling me that I have to replace the printheads? is that normal for this device or should I just buy a new printer?
‘thank you in advance

Hi @MamaJean57,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already tried various troubleshooting steps like cleaning the printheads and ensuring the cartridges are properly installed, and you're still experiencing issues with only two colors printing, it's possible that the printheads may indeed need to be replaced.
For the HP Officejet Pro 8035, printhead replacement isn't usually a common occurrence, especially if the printer is relatively new. However, it's not unheard of for printheads to fail or become damaged over time.
Before making a decision to replace the printer or the printheads, here are a few additional steps you could try:
- Printhead Alignment: Check if there's an option to align the printheads in your printer settings. Sometimes, misalignment can cause issues with color printing.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, software updates can resolve compatibility issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
