Hi! I have the HP Envy 4502. I have new ink cartridges, I have cleaned the cartridges 3 times and it still prints very light ink. I have downloaded the latest update. I don't know what else to. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi @TW120,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Light Ink Printing on HP Envy 4502!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check the Ink Levels

  • Verify that the ink cartridges are properly installed and are of the correct type for your printer.
  • Use the HP software or the printer’s display panel to check the ink levels and ensure they are full.

Cartridge Alignment

  • Use the printer's software to perform an alignment of the cartridges. Proper alignment can help improve print quality.

Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  • Print a quality diagnostic page to see if there are any specific areas where the ink is not appearing properly. This can often highlight issues with the cartridges or print heads.

Use High-Quality Paper

  • Ensure you’re using paper that is suitable for your printer and set the print mode to match the type of paper. Sometimes, low-quality or incorrect paper settings can affect print quality.

Clean the Contacts

  • Turn off the printer, remove the ink cartridges, and gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the cartridge slot with a lint-free cloth.
  • Ensure that the contacts are dry before reinserting the cartridges.

Update Printer Settings

  • Access the printer settings on your computer. Set the print quality settings to “Best” or increase the saturation and contrast settings.

I hope this helps.
