Hello, on two  HP deskjet printer, printing in normal quality is fine, but printing on photo paper best quality gives me a vertical multicolour line usually on the left of the printout. Thanka!

Hi @Antonioch7

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s frustrating, especially since normal printing works fine!

A vertical multicolour line when printing on photo paper in best quality could be caused by ink distribution issues, printhead alignment, or paper feed problems. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

1. Run Printhead Cleaning

  • Open Printer Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning cycle twice to remove any ink buildup.

2. Align the Printhead

  • Go to Printer Settings > Maintenance > Align Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment.

3. Check Paper Type Settings

  • Before printing, go to Print Preferences and ensure:
    • Paper Type is set to HP Photo Paper (or the correct type).
    • Print Quality is set to Best.
  • Using the wrong paper setting can cause ink misalignment.

4. Try a Different Photo Paper

  • Some users have reported issues with non-HP photo paper causing streaks.
  • If possible, test with HP-branded photo paper.

If the issue persists, let me know what happens, and I’ll guide you further!
