Hi @PittsburgLou,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To print on transparency using an HP OfficeJet 4650 or a similar inkjet printer, you'll need transparency sheets designed for inkjet printing. Here are the general steps to print on transparency.

Prepare Your Document: Create or open the document you want to print on the transparency in a program like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or graphic design software. Ensure your content is formatted correctly for the transparency sheet.

Load the Transparency Sheet: Open the printer's paper tray or input tray and adjust the paper guides to accommodate the transparency sheet. Be sure to follow any instructions provided with the transparency sheets to load them correctly.

Configure Printer Settings: Before you print, you need to configure the printer settings to match the transparency sheet type and quality you're using. Here's how to do it:

  • Open the "Print" dialog box in your software application.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer from the list of available printers.
  • Click on "Properties" or "Printer Preferences" to access the printer settings.

Paper Type and Quality:

  • In the "Paper/Quality" or "Paper Type/Quality" settings, choose "Transparency" or "Inkjet Transparency" as the paper type. If you can't find an option specifically labeled "transparency," choose a setting that's designed for glossy or photo paper, as transparency sheets are often treated similarly.

Print Quality:

  • Select the appropriate print quality. For most documents, "Normal" or "Best" quality should work fine. However, you can choose the quality that best suits your needs.

Page Orientation and Scaling:

  • Ensure that your page orientation (portrait or landscape) and scaling options are set correctly for your document.

Print Test Page:

  • It's a good idea to print a test page on regular paper first to make sure your content looks as expected. Once satisfied, proceed to print on the transparency sheet.

Print on Transparency:

  • In the print dialog, select the number of copies you want and click the "Print" button. The printer should now print your document on the transparency sheet.

Allow the Ink to Dry:

  • After printing, let the transparency sheet sit for a few minutes to allow the ink to dry completely.

Handle with Care:

  • Transparencies can be delicate, so handle them carefully to avoid smudging the ink or causing damage.

Keep in mind that inkjet printers may not produce as sharp or vibrant results on transparencies as laser printers. Also, be aware that transparency sheets can be more expensive than regular paper, so it's a good practice to perfect your document on regular paper first to minimize waste.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
