Software Mac OS Ventura 13.6.7. Computer Macbook Air M2. All ink cartridges showing empty. Replaced with 4 new ones. 3 showed full but Cyan new cartridge still showed empty. After working on it for 5 hours, I decided to replace the Cyan again with another blue one. Now all 4 colors ar showing full but printing is only in light blue. How can i fix this?

Hi @sillywilly,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-In-One Printer printing only in light blue, despite all cartridges showing as full:
Check Printer Settings:
- Go to your printer settings and make sure that the color printing option is enabled.
- Ensure the print quality settings are set to the highest quality.
Perform Printhead Cleaning:
- On the printer control panel, navigate to the maintenance or tools menu.
- Select the printhead cleaning option. You may need to perform this process multiple times.
Align Printhead:
- From the printer control panel, find the alignment tool in the maintenance or tools menu and run it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment.
Run Diagnostic Reports:
- Print a diagnostic page from the printer menu to see if there are any specific issues reported with the printhead or cartridges.
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Turn off the printer and carefully remove the cartridges.
- Clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinstall the cartridges ensuring they click into place properly.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website.
- Download and install any updates, then restart your printer.
Reset the Printer:
- Sometimes resetting the printer to its default settings can resolve issues.
- Refer to the printer manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
Reinstall Printer Software: Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-in-One Printer
- Remove the printer from your Macbook Air.
- Download the latest drivers and software for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e from the HP website.
- Reinstall the printer software and add the printer back to your Mac.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- If none of the above steps work, there could be a hardware issue with the printhead or the printer itself.
Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-in-One Printer User manual
HP OfficeJet 6900, 8010, 8020, 8030 printers - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issue...
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
