Printer is printing a shadow of each letter, only on the black, but no problem when printing a diagnostic page, so it's not the paper (printer is HP 3720). It makes it hard on the eyes to read.

These things have been done already... please read them before posting a generic suggestion...

New fresh ink cartridge.

Aligned text.

Cleaned cartridges (even though it can't be the problem since the diag page prints fine.

There are no text effects.

Printing from Samsung A71  Android 12.

Printed from pdf, word, google docs.

I noticed old posts but I didn't see any solutions.

Are you using the HP Smart App on your phone? If yes, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App and see if that helps.

Can you try printing from a different device and see if the same occurs?

Hi Betty, so from my laptop the pdf is printing fine, but from my Android the black text is  blurry, and the colour text is fine, interesting. But I don't generally use my very old laptop. And it's fine if I print from my Android to printers at Officeworks.
