@Bierdsy, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printing issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I know how frustrating it can be when you just want a simple black-and-white print, but your printer insists on showing off its colors. Let’s get that sorted!
First, try this:
Go to Printer Preferences on your computer.
Under Color Options, make sure “Print in Grayscale” or “Black Ink Only” is selected—not just “Black & White” (they can behave differently).
Hit Apply and OK.
Also, check if your color ink levels are low—some HP printers switch to color if black is empty or not recognized.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
