Printouts containing black boxes over text

I have a Deskjet 3637 that I’ve had for at least three years.  Recently, some printouts are coming out with black boxes printing over the text.  It first happened when I was printing a shipping label through eBay.   I thought it was a programming problem from eBay.  I tried printing an email, however, and it happened again.  I tried printing a document created in Libre office and no problem at all.   I printed out a Print Quality Diagnostic with no problem as well.  No problem with ink consistency.   I am stumped.   Has anyone had this problem?  I don’t know why my photos aren’t showing up   Sorry

What is wrong?

The issue might be one of translation.

The printer is mostly unaware of what it prints.

That said, all content the printer receives must be translated into printer language.

"Stuff" that doesn't translate properly might result in blank, black, oddly marked output.

I cannot help with printing the label through eBay - I don't use their tools.

If you can manage to get a hold of the PDF file (export / download the file to your computer).

Consider printing the PDF as an image.

Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC /Optional  Foxit Reader)

• HINT:  Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software
• Adobe Reader DC software should be installed even if you do not open / view / print PDF files directly from the software.

If the file will not print due to unusual content (odd fonts, color schemes, tables, other oddities), print the file as an Image.  Image printing does not require the printer software to translate file content.

1. Open the offending document in Adobe Reader DC

1. Click Print icon > Set other options on the menu > Click Advanced button

1. Set the printer select the colors (Optional)
2. Select Print the PDF file as an image
