Prints fine in black but colours are washed out

The printer was working fine now colours print very faint and faded.  ( ie Red is a pale pink ).  The black works fine.  The cartridges are new, shaken and undamaged.

I've got the same issue, regardless of the device I'm printing from. Same result for mobile, Chrome OS, and macOS. Very frustrating as the printer is barely over a year old. Changing ink density does not appear to have any impact. Changing paper doesn't help either.

I finally got through to HP support. 3 hours later I was told it couldn’t be fixed and that they would replace the printer. Then because the warranty had expired 11 days before it was a no go. So yeah the printer lasted a year. They then offered to help me buy a new printer. not likely. That will be my last HP.
