HP Officejet Pro X476dw Multifunction Printer

I've got the HP Officejet Pro X476dw and if I print in Black, the print in the middle of the paper stays white. The rest of the black inkt on the paper is also not really great.

I've tried the following things:

- Replaced the black cartridge by an original HP970XL cartridge

- Did the HP print head cleaning on all 3 levels several times

- Replaced the paper with original HP colorlok paper

I've inserted pictures of the print qualityPrint 1.jpgPrint 2.jpgPrint 3.jpg

Hi @Pennings,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, but it's frustrating that the issue persists. Since you've replaced the cartridge, cleaned the print head, and even switched to HP paper, it might be worth considering a few other possibilities.

  • Alignment: Sometimes, print heads can get misaligned, especially after cartridge changes. Check if your printer has an alignment feature and run it if necessary.
  • Software Settings: Make sure your printer settings match the type of paper you're using. Sometimes adjusting settings like paper type and quality can improve print quality.
  • Firmware Update: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, HP releases updates that address print quality issues.
  • Paper Handling: Check if the paper is loaded correctly in the tray. Improperly loaded paper can lead to printing issues.
  • Physical Inspection: Examine the printer for any visible signs of damage or debris that might be affecting the printing process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked everything you summed up but unfortunately nothing helped. There is no alignment feature on my printer and i've checked the latest software and firmware.  The paper handling is also well. And there is no physical damage.

Greetings,

Rick
