HP ENVY 5020 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

For quite some time now, my printer tells me that it has a problem with at least one ink cartridge. This happened after replacing the black ink with a new catridge (this one: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01EA0NF8E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1). After the replacement the printer just had an error and cannot even show me the fill level of the cartridges. Before buying a new cartridge for the same price, I'd like to ask you guys if you have any idea why my printer suddenly stopped working.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

What exactly is the error message? The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve

the cartridge error on your Envy 5020.  Be sure to clean the cartridge and printer electrical contacts as shown in step 3.

Genuine HP cartridges do have a warranty, see the document here for information.  If the cartridges are in warranty, to get warranty coverage you will need to go to the Contact HP page, then enter the information for your printerAt this point it will likely say "Manufacturer's warranty has expired"  To the right of this it will say "See details".  Click the "See details" link, which will open another page with more details.  Near the bottom of the text will be a paragraph that says :

HP has checked your product information, including the product and serial numbers, to determine your warranty results. The legal warranty expiration date is based on the date of purchase, as indicated on your receipt. If you feel these results are incorrect, you may submit a dispute for review. Dispute this

Click on the "Dispute this" link which will ask for some additional contact information.  Fill out the contact information, then in the bottom section select:

Dispute reason

Issue with my Accessories, Supplies and/or Software.

In the comment section indicate that you have a defective supply that is in warranty.
