Problem with Black Cartidge Quality

I'm getting poor quality from my black cartridge all of a sudden. Some letters are cut off/streaked/faded. Color is fine. I've tried cleaning and aligning several times each. Alignment fails. Print Quality Diagnostic prints out a page of the results after cleaning and everything looks good except the black. It is missing a "chunk" under the clean cartridges section.
