Hi @713728,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the black ink comes out green, it usually indicates a problem with the ink cartridge or the printer’s color calibration.
Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:
Check the Ink Cartridge: Make sure the black ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove and reinstall it to ensure it's seated correctly.
Clean the Printhead:
- Access the printer’s maintenance menu (usually available on the printer's display or through the HP Smart app).
- Select the option to clean the printhead or perform a printhead alignment. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Ink Leaks or Spills: Sometimes, an ink cartridge can have a manufacturing defect or be damaged, causing it to leak or mix colors. Inspect the cartridge and the area around it for any signs of leakage.
Run a Print Quality Diagnostic:
- Print a diagnostic page or print quality report from the printer’s menu.
- Check if the issue persists across different types of prints or only with specific documents.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, updates can resolve color issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
Try a New Cartridge: If the problem persists, try using a different black ink cartridge, preferably from a different batch or brand, to rule out cartridge defects.

I hope this helps.
