HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

Replaced the Cyan cartridge, and the printer primed it and printed ok yesterday. HP's smart and embedded web server showed it was full. I turned the printer on today and got the "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP".

I've turned the printer on and off, unplugged from the outlet, checked that there is no plastic on the cartridges, shook cartridges, reseated the ink cartridge tray, but still getting the error.

I'd rather not have to purchase an expensive Cyan ink cartridge and have it not work. Is there something else that I can try?

I've tried contacting support but being out of warranty, I have found zero help what so ever. None.

Reset Ink Cartridge Tray:

  • Reseat the ink cartridge tray to ensure proper contact.
  • Press firmly on the cartridges to secure them in their slots.

Clean Electrical Contacts:

Wipe Electrical Contacts on the Printer:

  • Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water.
  • Gently clean the electrical contacts on the printer by wiping them from top to bottom.
  • Ensure the contacts are dry before proceeding.

Clean Electrical Contacts on the Cartridges:

  • Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water.

As mentioned, I tried all automated support suggestions. Nothing worked.

Amazon is sending me a new ink cartridge which will arrive tomorrow . If that doesn't work, I'm assuming I'll need a new printer.

Another replacement Cyan cartridge was replaced and still doesn't work. Amazon was kind enough to return both.

I'll be purchasing an Epson, Canon, or Brother to see if I have a better experience with support.

I keep receiving notifications prompting me to "accept as a solution."

The lack of customer service and an acceptable solution is an absolute joke. I'll let this go another day and close it out.

I've ordered another printer, and let me tell you it was no HP!
