Hi @KDK16

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for already cleaning and replacing the cartridges—that’s a strong start. I understand how disheartening it is to face this kind of error, especially when the printhead can’t be removed.

The “Problem with printhead” message and event code 62.80.13, especially when the black ink won’t print and the printhead is non-removable, signals a severe print system fault—but there are still a few steps you can try to refresh the system before concluding it's unrecoverable.

Power Reset with Direct Wall Connection

  • Turn the printer on, if it’s not already.
  • While it’s powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error clears.

Check for Obstructions or Ink Build-up

  • Open the ink access door.
  • If the carriage moves, allow it to center.
  • Gently inspect the area around the printhead for any visible ink pooling, paper debris, or dried ink.
  • Do not attempt to remove the printhead—just visually inspect and gently wipe around the area with a lint-free cloth if accessible.

Run Printhead Cleaning from HP App (if accessible)

  • If the printer becomes responsive:
    • Open the HP App on your Windows PC.
    • Select your printer > Printer Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead.
    • Run the cleaning cycle and check if black ink starts printing.

Update Firmware (if printer is accessible)

  • If the printer reaches the home screen:
    • In the HP App, go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Printer Updates.
    • Install any available updates and restart the printer.

If the Error Persists at Startup

If the error appears immediately on power-up and blocks access to the menu or HP App, and the printhead is non-removable, then unfortunately, there are no further recovery steps that can be performed externally. The print system is unable to initialize, which prevents any software-based repair.

You’ve already done the right things—cleaning, replacing cartridges, and observing the error behavior. If the printer remains locked in this state, it’s likely a hardware-level failure. Let me know if the screen changes or if you’re able to access the menu—we can try again from there.
