My printer is HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus. No problems since 2013 purchase. Ran out of black ink. Put in brand new HP 950XL cartridge. Printer won't take it. Error message in window: "There is a problem with the printer or ink system." Ran myself through every cure you offer *** . No success. Reinstalled the old cartridge and amazingly the error message was gone. Spent $60 for a second new cartridge in case first one was defective. Tried it. NO SUCCESS. Same error message. NOTICE: Boxes label new cartridges for HP Office Jet 8600 and a bunch of Jet Pro models. Boxes do not label new cartridge for HP Office Jet Pro 8600. See the difference? HP Office Jet 8600 vs HP Office Jet Pro 8600. PLEASE HELP. If I have nailed the problem, where can I get ink cartridge that works for the Office Jet Pro 8600?
*** Including (1) unplugging, waiting, restarting as directed; (2) copper contacts cleanse with lint-free cloth; (3) jiggling the cartridge carrier; (3) checking for upgrade

Confirm Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges you purchased are indeed compatible with the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. While HP 950XL cartridges are generally compatible, it's good to check the specific model number on the packaging.
Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues. Go to the HP support website and check for any firmware updates specific to your printer model. Update the firmware on an HP printer
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Inspect the Cartridges: Examine the new cartridges for any protective tape or plastic that may have been left on. Ensure the copper contacts are clean and free from any obstructions.
Test Another Black Cartridge: If possible, try a different HP 950XL cartridge
