I purchased this printer, and had no idea it was mandatory to have a instant ink subscription to use it. we have been paying for years, and have probably printed 30 pages in all the time, paying 8 dollars a month. i thought it was silly, as i could have purchased a new printer in paying all that time. a month later, my wife needed to print our taxes, and couldnt. turns out that after paying more for instant ink than i paid for the printer , i couldnt print anything at all. Frankly, im surprised this is legal. This was never spelled out to me, and when i needed it, i couldnt print, like AT ALL?
Like MANY others i have been reading about, this is rediculous, and will put me off of HP altogether. Both of my HP Laptops, and this printer, will be going in the garbage on thurs, and i will NEVER buy anything from HP again, ever. I have been doing business with HP for decades, and have spent thousands of dollars on your gear. I even worked for HP at one time. I really didnt expect to be treated like this, and i think you will find that this business practice will cost you a lot of customers, me as one of them.
I wish you luck, and if your executives are wondering why customers are leaving the company, i hope you will be honest enough to tell them about me, and many others, that you have alienated.

@Maidmari, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about your recent experience with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e and the Instant Ink service. I completely understand your concerns and appreciate you sharing them.
While I know it hasn’t worked out as expected in your case, I’d like to mention that having an Instant Ink subscription does offer several benefits — including automatic ink delivery before you run out, cost savings for many users, and recycling of cartridges. That said, it’s important that the service works for you, and I’m here to help if it hasn’t.
If you're having any issues with your Instant Ink cartridges — whether they're not working, blocked, or showing errors — I’d be more than happy to assist and get things working properly for you.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can take a closer look together.
