Hello,

My printer HP ENVY 5030 don't print for several days with colors (except yellow). Last month it prints with colors but not the good ones. B&W is OK. I test with 2 new color cartouches, and I strictly followed what the virtual assistant explained to do (cleaning, alignment, ...).

What can I do ?

Thanks for your help ...

Alain

Hi @Alain10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your ENVY 5030 prints black and yellow but missing the other colors, even after replacing cartridges and running cleaning/alignment. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Print a Diagnostic Quality Report
• On the printer: Settings → Tools → Print Quality Report.
• This helps confirm if cyan/magenta are completely missing or printing faint.

Run a Deeper Printhead Cleaning
• Go to Settings → Tools → Clean Printhead.
• Run Level 1, then test. If colors are still missing, run Level 2.
• Avoid running Level 3 more than once — it uses a lot of ink.

Check the Vent Seals on the New Cartridges
• Remove the color cartridge and inspect the top vent.
• Make sure the orange pull-tab was fully removed and the vent isn’t covered or clogged.
• Reinstall firmly until it clicks.

Do a Manual “Ink Flow” Check
• Gently press the cartridge nozzles onto a paper towel.
• You should see three colors: cyan, magenta, yellow.
• If cyan/magenta don’t leave a mark, the cartridge is not flowing ink.

Inspect the Printhead for Dry Ink
• With cartridges removed, look at the printhead area inside the printer.
• If you see dried ink buildup on the cyan/magenta sections, it can block flow.
• A soft, barely damp lint-free cloth can be used to lightly dab the area.

Try the “Ink Reseating” Reset
• Remove all cartridges.
• Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then power on.
• Reinstall the cartridges one by one.

Ensure Color Printing Is Enabled in Driver Settings
• On your PC, check the printer preferences.
• Make sure “Print in grayscale” or “Black ink only” is not selected.

Print a Simple Color Test Page
• Create a page with solid cyan, magenta, and yellow blocks.
• This helps confirm if colors are firing consistently or not at all.

I hope this helps.
