I am not wanting what can and what cant be printed.

I want to know when i print a document or pictures of any thing does my printer print those yellow dots or some other security feature only onto what i print.

For example if i do a document for work does my printer print any security features that are not visable to the naked eye like those yellow dots and serial numbers on each print.

Hi @Mikky1977,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you want to know whether your HP OfficeJet 8010e inkjet printer adds invisible security features, such as yellow tracking dots or serial numbers, to your printed documents. Let’s clarify this.

Inkjet Printers and Security Features

Some HP and other brand inkjet printers do add microscopic yellow dots to prints.

These dots are often used for tracking purposes and may encode the printer’s serial number and print date.

However, this feature is usually implemented in high-end office or enterprise printers, not all consumer inkjet models.

HP OfficeJet 8010e Specifics

The OfficeJet 8010e is primarily a consumer/office inkjet printer.

HP does not officially document any automatic tracking or yellow dot security printing for this model.

Standard printing with this printer does not include visible or invisible tracking features like those used in certain corporate or government printers.

Printing Sensitive Documents

If you require no-trace printing, the OfficeJet 8010e is safe for general documents.

For highly sensitive materials, specialized printers designed for secure printing should be used.

How to Verify

Under a magnifying glass or microscope, some inkjet printers may leave small marks, but these are not standard or traceable on the OfficeJet 8010e.

If you want a definitive test, you could print a test page and examine it under high magnification.

I hope this helps.
