I am enrolled in the InstaInk program. Recently received a larger than normal printer cartridge compared to the previous . It fits into printer fine, numbers match up fine. However; printer states that it is having communication error . I’ve made sure they are installed correctly , plastic cover removed, in correct slot, etc….
InstaInk has sent me 3-4 cartridges over last 2-3 years and never had a problem. Like I stated, it fits in the slot perfectly. It’s about 1.5 times a la big as the others I’ve received in past. And they know what type of printer I have. Very frustrated. Thanks

Hi @Rxcromer
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
