Hi @Bramhdatt,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Ink Tank 316 printer is not printing the red color, there are several possible causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem.
- Check ink levels: Make sure that the red ink cartridge has sufficient ink. Open the printer software or use the control panel on the printer to check the ink levels. If the red ink cartridge is low or empty, replace it with a new one.
- Clean the printhead: Ink buildup or clogged nozzles on the printhead can result in poor color quality or missing colors. Most printers have a printhead cleaning utility in the printer software or control panel. Run the cleaning process for the printhead, and then try printing again.
- Perform a printhead alignment: Misalignment of the printhead can also cause color printing issues. Many printers offer a printhead alignment feature in their software or control panel. Run the alignment process to ensure that the printhead is correctly aligned, which can help improve color accuracy.
- Check print settings: Verify that the print settings are correctly configured to use color and the appropriate color mode (e.g., color or photo). Make sure that the grayscale or black-and-white mode is not selected.
- Use genuine HP ink cartridges: Non-HP or counterfeit ink cartridges may not provide the same color quality or compatibility as genuine HP cartridges. Ensure that you are using authentic HP ink cartridges for the best printing results.
- Update printer drivers: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP support website and check if there are any available driver updates for your printer model. Download and install the latest drivers, and then try printing again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
