HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased a HP Envy Photo 6200 all in one printer when I lived and worked in Hong Kong. It uses 804 series ink cartridges and it is very good. I have returned to live in the UK and cannot buy 804 series cartridges and the "UK Compatible" cartridges are 303 series so I bought 2 of them. They are seemingly incompatible and not recognised by my printer so I was told that the printer has to be re-regionalised. Spent some time with HP Support and they tried, unsuccessfully to remotely re-regionalise my printer. I was then informed that, despite what I was told when I bought it, it is a firmware issue and that the printer I bought in Hong Kong can only be re-regionalised to China, Australia, New Zealand etc but not the UK! I am now looking at being forced into buying ink to refill the cartridges myself. Whilst this wouldn't be my first choice I don't want to buy another printer so my question is, which holes on the 804 colour & black cartridges do I inject the respective inks into?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @PeteR12310,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for help with regional reset on your Printer.

As it did not work earlier, let us give a try again to reset it.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

Which country did you move from and to?

Do you have the ink cartridges for both regions?

Do you have a printer USB cable or is it connected wirelessly?

Do you have the printer full feature software or the HP smart app and drivers installed on your PC?

If you meet the above conditions then let me know the following details:

1) The operating system of your PC, is it Windows or Mac?

2) Confirm the printer model.

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
