Need region reset instructions for for my printer. Recently bought HP Ink and received an invalid cartridge error. Apparently the ink that was previously used was not HP ink and not region z10. I now have HP ink with the correct region but can't use the printer until a reset is complete. I opened a case recently but have received no response.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Yes, we'll have to do a region reset.

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.

Please do let us know.

Hi,

Thank you for your response to my problem. I have everything ready per your message, ink cartridges for the region I need (US-z10), full featured printer software installed, and the USB printer cable connected. Please let me know what I need to do next.

Thank you!

Hi,

I am still waiting for the solution to be sent to me. I need the region reset for the Officejet, right now I have a useless printer. PLEASE reply to this message with a solution.

Thank you.

Well, at this point I can say that HP support is completely and utterly useless. They are simply driving customers to alternate brands with their print cartridge region scheme. Going to buy an Epson EcoTank and save some $$.

•Open the printer queue in Print & Fax, and then click Printer Setup.

•Click the Utility tab.

•Click Open Printer Utility.

•De-select the printer to reset. Click another printer name (if a second printer is installed) or click the Printers folder.

•Hold down the Option key, and then click to reselect the printer to reset. Continue to hold the Option key until the Set New Region window opens. This might take several seconds.

Use the "Copy to Clipboard" feature to paste the values here or take a screenshot of the screen and send it to me in private.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" on my public post, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
