HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer

Hi! I recently moved from Europe to Asia and wanted to know how I could get a reset regional code for my printer? The ink I was using was 304, but now I have to use 123.

Hi @tangerinex,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you. Please note that HP Printers use different ink cartridges in different regions, and to use the ink cartridges sold in the current region, we need to change the region settings on the printer.

I request you to please get back to me with the following information, so that I can help you change the region settings on the printer.

Do you still have the ink cartridges for both regions

Do you have a printer USB cable?

Which OS is on the PC? Is it Windows or Mac?

Do you have the printer's full feature software and drivers installed on your PC?

Important Please note: Before performing a regional reset, please ensure that you are using the original old ink cartridges. Once the reset is completed, those cartridges may no longer be usable.

Please note:

  • A regional reset can only be performed once.
  • If you’ve already attempted the reset and it failed, please let us know.
  • Attempting the reset incorrectly could damage either the printer or the cartridges.

Hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello, Thank you for getting back to me.

I only have the ink cartridge of the new location, not the previous one. I have wifi connected since I lost the USB cable but can try to find another one if needed. I'm using a Mac. I'm not sure what you mean with full feature since I got it years go and have been using it with a new laptop only connected through wifi. I do have the HP application on my laptop, though.

Hi @tangerinex,

Thank you for getting back and sharing the details. Even if you are using a Mac, we can still perform the regional reset. However, please note a few requirements:

  • You’ll need a USB cable to connect the printer directly.
  • The full feature software/driver for your printer must be installed on your Mac.
  • Most importantly, you must have HP ink cartridges from the current regions (your available for the reset process.

Please check and confirm these details so we can guide you through the next steps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi,

I have all the above but regarding the ink cartridge I only have black and not colour. Is that fine? What shall I do next?

HP Recommended

Hi @tangerinex,

Thank you for getting back. To perform a regional reset, it’s important to have both cartridges available from the current region. Only then can the reset be completed successfully if either cartridge is missing; unfortunately, the reset will not work.

Hi, I have everything ready. What should I do next?

Hi @tangerinex,

Thank you for your response,

Connect the printer via USB (usually you need it in case your internet connection is not strong or may have downtime while performing it. You can skip it and perform the process under wifi as well.

Launch HP Smart and click the product ink levels to open the Supported Cartridges window.

Clicking ink levels in HP Smart

Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys (Cmd + Space in MAC) and then right-click on the empty area to the right of the ink levels.

Clicking to the right of the ink levels

The Set New Regions window opens.

Please share a screenshot of this window here in a Private message.

If this doesn't help, you can try these steps

1 ) On HP Smart,  click the gear icon on the Home screen, then click "About".

2 ) Right-click on the HP Smart logo while holding down Ctrl + Shift.

3 ) Screenshot the codes in the "Set New Region" page to send support

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
VikramTheGreat

Hi, the HP Smart app is no longer available to download, only the HP Print and Support app is. So I don't see the options you gave me. Where should I go from the app I have?
