The printer ran out of black ink this morning. I removed the empty 953XL cartridge, code N9H83A which stated on the label "replace with 953 or 953XL. I installed the cartridge from the same set as the colour inks (a 4-pack), the black ink level briefly showed full and then the printer gave the message "The indicated cartridge is an older generation cartridge that does not work with your printer. It can still be used with some older printer models." I can see that several other customers have had the same problem, buying a 4-pack to save money and then finding that the black cartridge is unusable. Does HP intend to sort this problem out?

Hi. We have a similar problem at our place of business. We have two cartridges of HP black ink. Neither one will work. We keep getting the Ink rejection error. Could you provide an appropriate solution for this, in a timely manner, please?
