Microsoft Windows 11

Hello.

I am having the same issue that a few others have had with the printer (HP Envy 4524) telling me to reinstall cartridges constantly without anything working to fix it.

I have gone through all the troubleshooting, replaced the cartridges with new ones and it is still giving me the same error.

It has also started printing extremely slow. Just on example would be that it took me 17 minutes to print one page the other day in black and white. I gave up for the rest of the job and just switched it off because I was fuming.

Can somebody please tell me what I need to do in order to get this thing to work or is it just simply done and I need to buy a better branded printer?

Thanks.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

  • Are you using HP genuine ink cartridges?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

And, also perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello.

As I mentioned, I have been through all the troubleshooting steps and still no luck.

I have tried original cartridges and generic ones as well, neither make a difference.

I will be buying a new printer because this has gone on for too long now and when I call for help, they are never able to resolve the issue unfortunately.

@BDJ

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. That's unfortunate. If the issue persists, please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit HP Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
