Hi @Deb-Ann,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 6055e printer is not offering the option to print in color after replacing the color ink cartridge, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure the color ink cartridge is correctly installed. Remove and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Print a page with a test print to check if the printer is recognizing the new cartridge. You can do this from the printer settings or HP Smart app. If the color cartridge shows low or empty, it may not be functioning correctly.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Set Printing Preferences:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click your HP Envy 6055e printer and select Printing Preferences. Ensure the color option is selected under the Color/Quality tab.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help diagnose and resolve printing issues automatically.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, and wait for about 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Software Settings:

  • If you are printing from a specific software (like Microsoft Word or Adobe Reader), check the print settings within that software to ensure color printing is selected.

Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Sometimes, reinstalling the printer driver can resolve issues. Go to the HP website, download the latest driver for your printer model, and reinstall it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
